Hi can I download course to watch on mu iPhone or tablet
No, the course cannot be downloaded for viewing offline.
G’ Day George,
I have been studiously working through your PS Elements online course. I am at Projects and have been to your %HTG Photo site but can not find any practice project there. Where do I download the images you worked on so I can follow along in Elements 2024. Kind regards Ronan
Hi Ronan, all of the project files are on the Projects page. The link is at the top of the right side menu, just below Contact. Click on “free photo list.pdf” to get the list of images used in the training, this is a list of download links for all the images used except for a few which are in the zip files below the list. Scroll down to the “Projects in the training” section to download the Photoshop Elements files for each project. The files are all in zip format so they will need to be downloaded, then unzipped on your computer to access the working files. Each zip is named after the project.
Many thanks, I am learning so much from your course George, one of my better purchases 🙂 After I purchased PSE 2024 I struggled I am new to this fascinating process. I recently retired and have taken up photography as a hobby (one of my not-so-great choices) No, I am totally absorbed by Planning, taking and post. So thank you for pointing me in the direction of enlightenment. Kind regards & a Merry Christmas to you & your family.
I have been scanning and retouching photos. In some cases, I am trying to adjust the levels on just the face of a subject. I create an adjustment mask and do my levels adjustment. When that is done, I enlarge the picture for final edits but find I was not accurate enough. When I try to go back and adjust the mask, how do I get the program to save the new additions or subtractions to the mask. For example, the face was selected, but not accurately enough but I didn’t notice it until after the levels were applied but when enlarging the picture I see exactly how inaccurate I was. I click to add/subtract to mask, but then I don’t know how to get the program to recognize the new mask so that the level’s adjustment shows through the “corrected” layer mask. There is no check mark or “ok” to click to get out of the screen and back to the main picture so that I can continue editing. And if I just go back to the main picture, the levels adjustment does not show on the new edited mask. I usually end up having to start over. Please help.
You should see a layer mask to the right side of the thumbnail for the adjustment layer. That is where you control what is being adjusted. Click on the layer mask thumbnail and you should get a light blue outline around it. Now you can paint on the layer with Black or White to adjust the layer mask, you will actuallly be painting on the layer mask as long as the mask is selected. You will see the results as you paint.
I have been doing that and it seems to work at the time, but when I leave that and go back to the picture, the changes to the layer mask have not been saved.
Hi Terri, that should work. Check the stacking order of your layers. Make sure there isn’t a layer above the adjustment layer that is hiding the adjustments.
Hi George –
I just purchased the new Nikon Z50ii. I know that Adobe will include support for it in a Raw Convertor. Do you know if they’ll add it to the Raw Convertor that PSE 2024 uses? Or is there a way to use a newer version of the PSE Raw Convertor in PSE 2024?
Thanks
I believe that Adobe will be updating Camera RAW in Elements. Open the Help menu, at the bottom you will find an Update link, if that is not grayed out there is an update available. Right below that you should see a link that says Install Camera RAW, click on that to get the latest version. There is no other way to update the editor in PSE. But, Adobe has an online converter that will convert RAW to DNG, you could then open the DNG using the PSE Camera RAW editor, version won’t matter. Here is that link https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/using/adobe-dng-converter.html
I’m working with the lasso tools but after a couple clicks (on the polygon lasso), it something completes the lasso when I have just begun and have a lot more to include in the selection. I’m going slow and not double clicking and am working more or less in a straight/curved line, not anywhere near the beginning point. This keeps happening over and over and I can’t get the selection completed.
I heard there was an issue with this in older versions. I have PSE 2025. What do I need to do?
Hi Terri, that is a mouse problem, not a PSE problem. First get the knack of slowing down the clicking. Then you may need to adjust the sensitivity of your mouse so that you don’t get double clicks by accident. That would be in the mouse settings for your computer, not in PSE.
