Step-by-Step
Download Photos using the links above.
Combine Photos into one project by floating the subject photo over the background photo and drag n' drop the subject into the background photo.
Make Selection around Foreground Subject. In Photoshop Elements 2025 and other recent versions use Subject Select in the Subject menu. For earlier versions use any selection tool you like to make a selection around the subject, I like the Polygonal Lasso tool. Fix the selection if needed.
Refine Edge of Dog's Fur using Refine Edge.
Clean Up Layer Mask using Black paint to hide and White paint to show.
Adjust Values of Background using a Layers Adjustment Layer so that the blacks are similar to the blacks in the foreground subject.
Adjust Color Tone using a Photo Filter Adjustment Layer. I used the default warming filter at 25%
Don't forget to Save.
